If you have been thinking to appear for IBP certification C_IBP_1908, this article will take you through how to prepare for your IBP Certification exams. I would advise you to appear for this exam in the coming months as this will be replaced by the latest version very soon.
About the exam:
This is an associate-level certification that tests your knowledge around General Model configurations and basics. You don’t have to be an expert in all IBP modules for the certification.
Exam format
It contains 80 questions in 3 hours.
All questions will be multiple choices with no partial marking (meaning no mark will be given to you if you tick on 2 correct answers out of three correct ones).
For a question that has multiple answers, they will specify how many correct answers are there.
No negative marking (I can see a smile on your face!!!!)
What should I study?
Typically, the SAP official website mentions three courses.
IBP100 – SAP IBP Overview
IBP200 – Platform Features and Time Series Based Heuristics Planning
IBP300- SAP IBP – Advanced Configuration
So, is it sufficient if I go through these 3 courses? The answer is no. Although it does give a very good overview and starting point for your preparation, I would recommend you going through the help.sap.com documentation in detail as there are quite several questions that are not present in the IBP100-300 course materials moreover are straight from help.sap.com documentation.

Booking your Exam:
The delivery method can be chosen as SAP Cloud certification. The course “CER006_10 SAP Certification in the Cloud “which means you can give this exam in your Pyjamas from a quiet room from your home. I would recommend the cloud mode as this gives 6 different attempts with a maximum of 3 attempts per certification.
Proctored exam means there will be an examiner who will scan your room before releasing the exam. The examiner will monitor you throughout the exam via your camera and microphone being streamed throughout the exam. No coffee or toilet breaks allowed.
During the exam day:
A couple of days before my exam I realised that the system pre-requisites are at least 2 Mbps upload speed and 4 Mbps download speed. My upload speed was just below 2 Mbps as I don’t have ultra-fast fiber broadband in my area, I did an emergency top-up of 50 Gb of data on my 4g network for the test and realized that it only consumes around 1.5 Gigs of data for entire 3 hours. So as long as you can hold a video call with screensharing you are good for the exam.
The exam opens 15 mins before the scheduled time.
This is where you should be spending most of your time. If you think it’s a lot, I would say its not. You can go through all the contents in 3-4 weeks if you manage to spend 5-6 Hours every week.
SAP IBP Server Access
If you are not working already in an IBP project, I can assure you that you won’t be able to find any legitimate vendors providing this. The only workaround which I can suggest is getting an SAP Learning Hub access and try out guided exercises which will give you the look and feel of the SAP IBP Fiori and Excel. The only downside of SAP Learning hub is that it is very expensive. We can arrange an SAP Learning Hub limited access with a deep discount. Feel free to drop a note to webmaster@sapignite.com for more details.
