How to prepare for ABAP Certification

Preparing for ABAP Certification (C_TAW12_70) ????

Lets assume that you are going for the ABAP Certification via SAP – Teched.If you are not aware of SAP Teched just have a look on its site. In short Sap Teched is an event which organised by SAP Every year Which includes Certification exams.(In India it is only in Bangalore).Check out the article How to apply in SAP Teched :

Let’s say you have 2 months of time and every day you can spend 1.5 hour for Study.

(Note: This 1.5 hour does not include activities like : chatting with your Boyfriend / Girlfriend or Office work )

So you have around 90 hours to prepare for the certification.

In these 90 hours you need to go through the below topics:

These figures are given by SAP. For Certification I recommend you ABAP in 21 days + all TAW10-12 books.

It will be good if you go through these books once and i guess 90 hours will be enough for this

Note : Topic like Webdynpro for ABAP and Unicode will not be covered more effectively in these books so you need to prepare those topic on your own.

After completing these books it will be good if you practice the Q&A.

Don’t become too much over confident as these questions are very simple and don’t lose the hope as after finishing all books it will be child’s play for you.

Also check out SAP ABAP online Quiz (it requires to create an account, Don’t worry it is just 30 Seconds job!!!)

Things need to be taken care during exam:

The last year Exam format was:

Contains 80 questions in 3 hours.
All questions will be multiple choices and no partial marking is there(it means no mark will be given to you if you tick on 2 correct answers out of three correct one).
For a question which has multiple answers, they will specify how many correct answers are there.
No negative marking (I can see smile on your face!!!! )

Tips for the certifications:

Try to read F1 help for all the basic syntax so that it will clear your basics.
3 hours is quite big time to write 80 questions So give 5 mins of time for reading the rules first.
In exam they will not going to ask stupid questions like Which transaction code or function can be used to do XYZ tasks,etc, So don’t waste your time in mugging up Tcode & function modules.

Topics like Webdynpro for abap and Unicode needs your attention that you can read it from HELP.SAP.COM
and just basic knowledge of these topics are enough.

Am swapna,completed mca in 2010 still am in searching for a job,actually after my mca i got an offer frm a cmpny bt i dnt wish to jn bcz i always wanted to start my career frm a reputed cmpny,after dat even i dnt dnt gt a chance to attend an intervw bcz of referal drives frm my family am d nly person who completes pg.
Nw i decided to take training in sap abap in a reputed training ins(yash technologies) but they cost very huge amount for certification, whatever dat may b if at all i jnd in d course how can i prepare for d xam.dat is an e learning course is it possible to complete my course and certification in 3months . is it really possible if am really dedicated to d training. plz help me

If you want to learn functional too ..Like you are saying ECC 6.0 .you need to search
some one for installing it.Try to search on google hope you will get it.

Hi Sathya,

If you are planning the certification from the NIIT you need not to worry about the material as they will be providing you the same.
As NIIT will also provide the training for 1 month for sap abap certification, its enough to clear the associate level exam
if you concentrate.

Basic programming is the only need to learn ABAP.
I suggest you can try help.sap.com to understand what is abap and try to get the SAP system access where you can
practice the same.

I suggest go through the book “ABAP in 21 Days” which is very good for the beginner.

There are no difference other thn Fees ,
Normally the cutoff remains between 50-60% ( observed since last 2-3 years ) .

final cutoff will be communicated the moment you will get the final date of your exam.

Ya if you have programming background you can clear the exam.anyway as you dont have prior
experience you can’t go with the direction certification so anyway the authorized training
centers like NIIT/Siemens will give you the training for a month i guess and thn you can
appear for the certification.

    Dont worry much.Just take it seriously thats it.
    regarding studying i feel you dont have anyother work to do so lets make it 3-4 hours a day.
    Spend some 1-2 hours for practical and reading F1 help for each and every field and statement.
    
    thats 5 books are enough for abap associate level exam.

I have two years exp. in .NET technology. I feel that growth in this field is very limited. So, I wanted to switch to SAP. I’m looking forward for taking ABAP module. Can you please let me know like the job opportunities, growth and money aspects after taking this module as a part of the career.
But, I heard its very costly like 2-3 Lacs. Is it really true? Because I could see in above posts, you mentioned 39K for associate level. Which certification do I need to give?

39K which i mentioned for the certification is only applies to the developed who are currently working in SAP ABAP module ( min. 1 year experience).

If you are fresher in SAP ABAP field and want to do certification there are many institutes who are sap partners like NIIT, siemens etc..
They will train you in ABAP and you can apply for certification too( which will cost you really hard around 1-2 lacs.)But positive point here will be
you can get job placement ( you must confirm it before joining )

From my side suggested way will be : to take training in your current organization in sap abap module and work there it self
for year or more.if your org. is in sap practice.

.NET is not that bad technology from my side. SAP Field looks magnetic from outside but as per the pay is concern in india its not much different.
Ya.but its true that sap abap is in more demand right now..

When i tried to login through the gui provided using the usename and password provided by you (BCUSER,SAP*,DDIC) (passwd-minisap) i am ubamble to login. i have tried many times but showing erroe message that username and password is wrong. As a fresher without taking training from sap authorised partners like NIIT siemenes etc…
I dont think you are allowed to appear for the sap certification according to policy.

The direct certification is allowed if you have 1 year of sap implementation experience.

You can get a training from mumbai/bangalore easily but going to the sap certification will be problem.

    I am not sure abt good institute in bangalore.But you can try with NIIT or siemenes .
    Please make sure following things:
    1.) Job placement after certification exam. (Because as a freshers it will be very difficult to get a job in SAP Field )
    2.) Try to get the feedback from the pass out student of that institute.

This is again regarding the SAP ABAP certification.
I have 3 yrs of exp in Software development (Mainframes) and now planning to switch my career in SAP.
I am from Delhi and currently working in Gurgaon.
I am in touch with a premier institue( in Delhi) that is also a SAP legal partner for trainings in India regarding the training and certification. But right now I am not in a position to afford the huge fees of 3.4 lacs and they told me that it is mandatory to go into training with SAP partners in INDIA before appearing for the certification.

It would be really helpful if you could help me by answering a couple of questions here?

1) In India is it mandatory to go into training with SAP partners like ATOS , NIIT or Genovate before appearing for the certification.
Can’t we prepare on our own and directly contact SAP for the certification by paying only the certification fees.
2) If we could not appear for the SAP certification directly in India, can we reach out to any other Branch of SAP like Singapore for the certification?
I have heard that we can go there and could appear for the SAP certification directly without taking the training and investing a huge amount.

If possible could you please provide me the contact nos where I can direclty reach out regarding the SAP certification in ABAP?

YES.Its mandatory to take training and appear for the certification exam for fresher.
If you are currently working with SAP you can very well opt for the Direct certification where you only need to pay 30-40 k the certification fees.

I am not sure about your second question.
I feel email ids for the SAP Certification / learning will be easily available on SAP site.

Mr. Raj, I need your guidance.
I am a MCA graduate and I have done SAP ABAP training from a local institute in Bangalore. And I am looking for a job these days. I want to do ABAP certification but without doing the training.
I went through the Teched website and there is no information regarding eligibility. It only says that there will be an event called certification on 30th Nov 2012. So my query is, am I eligible for the SAP Teched certification exam. And what is the fee for it. Im a bit confused about the certification fee, some say it will be 18k, some say 30k and others say it will be 39k.

TO appear for the certification via Teched you need minimum 1 year implementation experience for SAP ABAP.
Certification fees are keep changing year as per my knowledge its 23K last year ( 40% Discount is given if you appear for the exam in Teched event)

    Depending on your placement..If its service based comp.. u can expect 2.5 to 4.5 lac. per annual.
    if its product based compny.. it will be more thn that..
    
    **Note: make sure ur training institute. provide u the placement else it iwll be damn difficult to get a job

ITs always good to go with highest version of certification like C_TAW12_71.

Still its your choice as for older version u can get the study material and dumps easily.

which are not available for the C_TAW12_70

The percentage changes for every exam mostly its 52-55% for associate level.
The actual percentage will be communicated to you before the exam by SAP .

Hello Geet,

To appear for certification in SAP Teched you need full conference pass ( cost around 13k-17k )
which normally company pays.

If not still you can buy the pass from your own.
After that you need to opt for certification Where you will get 40% discount on the fees ( associate level exam will cost around 23K instead of 45K+ )

You need to send few documents to SAP like:
1) Your resume
2) Later signed by your group leader or SAP practice head ( proof that u r part of that organisation )
etc..etc..
Pay the money and Done !!!!!!

Just like other programming language ABAP is same nothing out of the box.You can very well learn it.
But as a freshers its tough to get a job as an abap developer ( this is not the case with java/.Net/C/c++)

Its not at all difficult to switch to IT company .Actually the fact is in IT company like TCS/Infi/Wipro again you will be placed to client location which will be same.

So If you technically sound ABAPer it should not be a big deal.

Hi
I am a BScIT graduate ! I wish to pursure my career in SAP. So please can you guide me regarding SAP ABAP module..because as per my information i will be able to only take up that module as i am a fresher. Please do tell me what actually is included into SAP ABAP . What kind of programming is their into it? Is it much of coding ? Do we need excellent coding skills ? What are the pre- requisites that i should be well versed if i want to pursue the SAP ABAP training?
As the course is too costly i need to find all possible details about the course….and so i guess there won’t be any other person who can best way guide me regarding all this. Please reply asap!!
And one more please do tell me that doing only SAP ABAP would be a good career or not and even what will be the start pay as a fresher?
I am planning to do that course from either Delphi Computech or Lithan Genovate. Which is best according to you, please do suggest me even that.
Lots of questions though …please guide me …as this is what i am going to take up as my career so it matters a lot to me !! Looking forward for your reply !

Hello Amita,

I agree as fresher you will have your mind filled with lots of questions.I am not sure about which institute you should pick up ( as seriously i never interacted with any of them)
What ever you select Please make sure following things:
1.) Job placement after certification exam. (Because as a freshers it will be very difficult to get a job in SAP Field )
2.) Try to get the feedback from the pass out student of that institute.

To give you more detail about SAP ABAP.
1) ya its normal programming language nothing out of the box ( just its developed keeping business needs )
2) Initial pay is not that flashy now a days until u join companies like SAP labs or other product companies ( other IT companies gives 3.5 package)

iam just passout 2012 batch of B.tech (computer engg.) Student .i want to do sap abap course .i heard about that the teaching in the sap authorized center done in two manner .
1. online tutor manner
2.class room manner in which one sap consultant teacher will teacher in month.
is this true??
and another imp question should i go online teching manner? will this is online tutor manner will definetely help me or not?plzz reply me becoz i have to take decision .

I Feel classroom training is best rather thn going using online tutor.
If fees does not matter for u thn i suggest go with classroom training.

NOte : MAke sure you confirm about 100% placement from your training institute.As i have seen
job less guys after doing sap abap courses.

  Firstly thanks for u advice .the classroom training fee is very expensive and i have some money problems so can i do online tutor manner ? the sap authorized center give 200 hrs & 5 months(max) for completion of course after that within 1 months i can give the exam.
  abap is kind of programming language so online tutor manner really help me? whether this kind of teaching really help me? and this sap authorized institute give 100 % placement assistance.but this online tutor user friendly means can i easily learn from online manner this programming langugae.

  To go for Direct certification you need have atleast 1 year of sap abap experience.
  Without experience if you want to do sap abap experience you need to take training from SAP recognized training partners
  like siemens , NIIT etc…

Hello Tripti,

Certification is always added advantage in career specially for service based org ( as client prefer certified resources ).

But if you are technically good its not an issue.

As you already have 1yr+ exp. i suggest you should go for the certification.
Try attending SAP Teched event ( nov-2012 Location : Bangalore ) where you can get discount on certification fees also nice platform to know about SAP world.

in associate level there are two latest certification available.
C_TAW12_71
C_TAW12_70

There are certifications available for Netweaver 04 too.But not sure those are still available ( as its older version ).

  The only difference in the above links is one for SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and the another one is for SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.02.

Thanks a lot for the help you are providing for the people who are intereseted in the SAP world.

I have completed SAP ABAP Online Tutor course in 2007 from Siemens Hyderabad. I could not complete the certification after the training becuase of Professional Constraints. Presently I am in the Infrastructure Domain and have around 6 years of experience in IT industry.

My questions are:
1) Did you see enough examples in your experience who have successfully switched from one domain within an IT to SAP. What do you think is the succcess Rate?
2) Do you forsee any challenges in taking the certification after a long gap of 5 years (In terms of course content or process)?
3) What is the chance of competing with the open market after successful completion of Certification (If internal movement is ruled out)?

Moreover in the blog you have said studying for 2 hours a day has great success rate in clearing the certification. Thanks a lot Raj….that inspires me as i cannot spare more than that seeing the work culture I am in now.

Please find my comments on your Questions below :

Till now in my career i have 3-4 ( ABAP guys ) and 5-10 Fucntional guys who have switched from the other domain to SAP .
I feel this can help you to determine the Success rate.

2) Do you forsee any challenges in taking the certification after a long gap of 5 years (In terms of course content or process)?

Associate level certification is not at all a big deal if you are technically good.SO long career gap does not matter if you are technically sound.

3) What is the chance of competing with the open market after successful completion of Certification (If internal movement is ruled out)?
Experience person has always added advantage compare to freshers with certification.SO Certification make sure you are not a fake person.
But Again if you are not from MNC , it will be little tough so take your decision based on that.

SAP ABAP has good demand in markert ****BUT its difficult to get a job for freshers .
I am not sure about the good institutes which provide the 100% placement.
But IF you join any make sure they provide job.
Else its waste of money and time.

      well 3 lacs + is not small amount.On other side if they are giving you the 100% guarantee about placement you can go with it.
      
      If your programming is good you can clear the certification.
      
      ***But dont expect much from the package you get as in SAP ABAP field you will be given the same package which normal JAVA or .NET programmer gets.
      Its no more a special skill those golden days are gone.
      
      Discuss with more ppl and take a decision.

I am working as a Software Programmer in SAP ABAP in a manufacturing company from last 1.8 years. As SAP is implemented in our company and I was the part of the core implementation team from my company’s side. I want to ask you that can I go for Sap ABAP Certification without taking the training from any institute? I want to appear in the exam directly.

Please also tell me what is the minimum educational qualification required for SAP ABAP Certification. I am a BCA(Correspondence) and one of my colleauge is also working at same designation like me who also wants to appear for certification but he is pursuing BSC-IT(correspondece). As he is still pursuing graduation but working in abap can he go for certification directly?

Hello Kakshi,

The minimum qualification requires for the direct certification for SAP ABAP Associate level is 1 year of abap implantation experience which you already have.
(you should be graduate , as with out graduation i feel its not a professional experience ***I am not sure about this rule But you can apply for the certification
Where your resume will be validated by SAP , if they fill graduation is mandatory they will get back to you )

If the organisation you work for is SAP Customer or partner you can go for direct certification.

Well if you are planning for BI , BO yeah C_TBW45_70 is good.But as a career guide i suggest do also take work experience in ABAP , Just certification will not give you a sharp edge. Certification + work exp. is better way.

So before you move to BI , BO or BW makes sure you dont let go ABAP.

Hi Ritika,

As you already have programming knowledge I dont think ABAP is that though. So you need not to depends on so many books.
I suggest abap in 21 days and taw series for certification.

Try to do practice on system more and use of F1 help for every syntax, will be useful.
In last the last book which you mentioned can be helpful.

So from my side I suggest.
Abap in 21 days
Taw series
Sap certified development associate ….

  If you are planning the certification from the NIIT you need not to worry about the material as they will be providing you the same.
  As NIIT will also provide the training for 1 month for sap abap certification, its enough to clear the associate level exam

  Normally the cutoff remains between 50-60% ( observed since last 2-3 years ) .

  experience you can’t go with the direction certification so anyway the authorized training
  centers like NIIT/Siemens will give you the training for a month i guess and thn you can

      Dont worry much.Just take it seriously thats it.
      regarding studying i feel you dont have anyother work to do so lets make it 3-4 hours a day.
      Spend some 1-2 hours for practical and reading F1 help for each and every field and statement.
      
      thats 5 books are enough for abap associate level exam.

Good to see you helping out people with your knowledge. Thanks for all your help and keep up the nice and good work.
I have two years exp. in .NET technology. I feel that growth in this field is very limited. So, I wanted to switch to SAP. I’m looking forward for taking ABAP module. Can you please let me know like the job opportunities, growth and money aspects after taking this module as a part of the career.
But, I heard its very costly like 2-3 Lacs. Is it really true? Because I could see in above posts, you mentioned 39K for associate level. Which certification do I need to give?

  39K which i mentioned for the certification is only applies to the developed who are currently working in SAP ABAP module ( min. 1 year experience).
  
  If you are fresher in SAP ABAP field and want to do certification there are many institutes who are sap partners like NIIT, siemens etc..
  They will train you in ABAP and you can apply for certification too( which will cost you really hard around 1-2 lacs.)But positive point here will be
  you can get job placement ( you must confirm it before joining )
  
  From my side suggested way will be : to take training in your current organization in sap abap module and work there it self
  for year or more.if your org. is in sap practice.
  
  .NET is not that bad technology from my side. SAP Field looks magnetic from outside but as per the pay is concern in india its not much different.
  Ya.but its true that sap abap is in more demand right now..

I have succesfully downloaded the sap netweaver 7.2 for 32bit os and installed successfully in my laptop withoug getting any error message. When i tried to login through the gui provided using the usename and password provided by you (BCUSER,SAP*,DDIC) (passwd-minisap) i am ubamble to login. i have tried many times but showing erroe message that username and password is wrong. Kindly help me out

  As a fresher without taking training from sap authorised partners like NIIT siemenes etc…
  I dont think you are allowed to appear for the sap certification according to policy.
  
  The direct certification is allowed if you have 1 year of sap implementation experience.
  
  You can get a training from mumbai/bangalore easily but going to the sap certification will be problem.

      I am not sure abt good institute in bangalore.But you can try with NIIT or siemenes .
      Please make sure following things:
      1.) Job placement after certification exam. (Because as a freshers it will be very difficult to get a job in SAP Field )
      2.) Try to get the feedback from the pass out student of that institute.

This is again regarding the SAP ABAP certification.
I have 3 yrs of exp in Software development (Mainframes) and now planning to switch my career in SAP.
I am from Delhi and currently working in Gurgaon.
I am in touch with a premier institue( in Delhi) that is also a SAP legal partner for trainings in India regarding the training and certification. But right now I am not in a position to afford the huge fees of 3.4 lacs and they told me that it is mandatory to go into training with SAP partners in INDIA before appearing for the certification.

It would be really helpful if you could help me by answering a couple of questions here?

1) In India is it mandatory to go into training with SAP partners like ATOS , NIIT or Genovate before appearing for the certification.
Can’t we prepare on our own and directly contact SAP for the certification by paying only the certification fees.
2) If we could not appear for the SAP certification directly in India, can we reach out to any other Branch of SAP like Singapore for the certification?
I have heard that we can go there and could appear for the SAP certification directly without taking the training and investing a huge amount.

If possible could you please provide me the contact nos where I can direclty reach out regarding the SAP certification in ABAP?

  YES.Its mandatory to take training and appear for the certification exam for fresher.
  If you are currently working with SAP you can very well opt for the Direct certification where you only need to pay 30-40 k the certification fees.

Mr. Raj, I need your guidance.
I am a MCA graduate and I have done SAP ABAP training from a local institute in Bangalore. And I am looking for a job these days. I want to do ABAP certification but without doing the training.
I went through the Teched website and there is no information regarding eligibility. It only says that there will be an event called certification on 30th Nov 2012. So my query is, am I eligible for the SAP Teched certification exam. And what is the fee for it. Im a bit confused about the certification fee, some say it will be 18k, some say 30k and others say it will be 39k.

  TO appear for the certification via Teched you need minimum 1 year implementation experience for SAP ABAP.
  Certification fees are keep changing year as per my knowledge its 23K last year ( 40% Discount is given if you appear for the exam in Teched event)

    Mr. Raj, thanks for the prompt response. So it clearly means that I am not eligible for SAP Teched certification. Now, I am seriously thinking about doing training + certification from Siemens/Genovate.

      Depending on your placement..If its service based comp.. u can expect 2.5 to 4.5 lac. per annual.
      if its product based compny.. it will be more thn that..
      
      **Note: make sure ur training institute. provide u the placement else it iwll be damn difficult to get a job

Would like to know if there is any difference and if you have the material for C_TAW12_71 . Also i would like to know what are these BC400 BC402 etc which is mentioned in the alternative books.

As in One can apply through its own company (the company will send the list of employees appearing for certfication to SAP) and what is the other way round like can we apply directly?If yes pls tell me the exact procedure.. i have a 2.5 years of experience.

  To appear for certification in SAP Teched you need full conference pass ( cost around 13k-17k )
  which normally company pays.
  
  If not still you can buy the pass from your own.
  After that you need to opt for certification Where you will get 40% discount on the fees ( associate level exam will cost around 23K instead of 45K+ )
  
  You need to send few documents to SAP like:
  1) Your resume
  2) Later signed by your group leader or SAP practice head ( proof that u r part of that organisation )
  etc..etc..
  Pay the money and Done !!!!!!

I am a BScIT graduate ! I wish to pursure my career in SAP. So please can you guide me regarding SAP ABAP module..because as per my information i will be able to only take up that module as i am a fresher. Please do tell me what actually is included into SAP ABAP . What kind of programming is their into it? Is it much of coding ? Do we need excellent coding skills ? What are the pre- requisites that i should be well versed if i want to pursue the SAP ABAP training?
As the course is too costly i need to find all possible details about the course….and so i guess there won’t be any other person who can best way guide me regarding all this. Please reply asap!!
And one more please do tell me that doing only SAP ABAP would be a good career or not and even what will be the start pay as a fresher?
I am planning to do that course from either Delphi Computech or Lithan Genovate. Which is best according to you, please do suggest me even that.

  What ever you select Please make sure following things:

    Firstly thanks for u advice .the classroom training fee is very expensive and i have some money problems so can i do online tutor manner ? the sap authorized center give 200 hrs & 5 months(max) for completion of course after that within 1 months i can give the exam.
    abap is kind of programming language so online tutor manner really help me? whether this kind of teaching really help me? and this sap authorized institute give 100 % placement assistance.but this online tutor user friendly means can i easily learn from online manner this programming langugae.

    To go for Direct certification you need have atleast 1 year of sap abap experience.
    Without experience if you want to do sap abap experience you need to take training from SAP recognized training partners
    like siemens , NIIT etc…

  Certification is always added advantage in career specially for service based org ( as client prefer certified resources ).
  
  But if you are technically good its not an issue.
  
  As you already have 1yr+ exp. i suggest you should go for the certification.
  Try attending SAP Teched event ( nov-2012 Location : Bangalore ) where you can get discount on certification fees also nice platform to know about SAP world.

    The only difference in the above links is one for SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and the another one is for SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.02.
    
    As I have mentioned I have latest Taw 10 and Taw12 manuals. Which certification do u think is good for me and can be easily pass out from these manuals as i have 1 year 9 months of experience in abap.

I have completed SAP ABAP Online Tutor course in 2007 from Siemens Hyderabad. I could not complete the certification after the training becuase of Professional Constraints. Presently I am in the Infrastructure Domain and have around 6 years of experience in IT industry.

My questions are:
1) Did you see enough examples in your experience who have successfully switched from one domain within an IT to SAP. What do you think is the succcess Rate?
2) Do you forsee any challenges in taking the certification after a long gap of 5 years (In terms of course content or process)?
3) What is the chance of competing with the open market after successful completion of Certification (If internal movement is ruled out)?

Moreover in the blog you have said studying for 2 hours a day has great success rate in clearing the certification. Thanks a lot Raj….that inspires me as i cannot spare more than that seeing the work culture I am in now.

  Till now in my career i have 3-4 ( ABAP guys ) and 5-10 Fucntional guys who have switched from the other domain to SAP .
  I feel this can help you to determine the Success rate.
  
  2) Do you forsee any challenges in taking the certification after a long gap of 5 years (In terms of course content or process)?
  
  Associate level certification is not at all a big deal if you are technically good.SO long career gap does not matter if you are technically sound.
  
  3) What is the chance of competing with the open market after successful completion of Certification (If internal movement is ruled out)?
  Experience person has always added advantage compare to freshers with certification.SO Certification make sure you are not a fake person.
  But Again if you are not from MNC , it will be little tough so take your decision based on that.

    1) The Success Rate to switch within the company is Very low…but not Impossible. Silghtly dejected
    2) Associate level certification is not a big deal if prepared properly. Confidence Raised
    3) The chances are bright in the open market for expericened Guys and even more for people from MNC background. I am from MNC…so I guess there are better chances in open market as well. Confidence Raised again

    thank you very much for this advice but i want to lithan genovate at Bangalore.he told me that after 25 days of training if you clear certification exam they will provide 100% of placement.the total cost of training+certification is around 3 lakh 42 thousand including Examination fee.so plz suggest me wather i can go for this certification or not.

        well 3 lacs + is not small amount.On other side if they are giving you the 100% guarantee about placement you can go with it.
        
        If your programming is good you can clear the certification.
        
        ***But dont expect much from the package you get as in SAP ABAP field you will be given the same package which normal JAVA or .NET programmer gets.
        Its no more a special skill those golden days are gone.

Hi Raj,

I am working as a Software Programmer in SAP ABAP in a manufacturing company from last 1.8 years. As SAP is implemented in our company and I was the part of the core implementation team from my company’s side. I want to ask you that can I go for Sap ABAP Certification without taking the training from any institute? I want to appear in the exam directly.

Please also tell me what is the minimum educational qualification required for SAP ABAP Certification. I am a BCA(Correspondence) and one of my colleauge is also working at same designation like me who also wants to appear for certification but he is pursuing BSC-IT(correspondece). As he is still pursuing graduation but working in abap can he go for certification directly?

  The minimum qualification requires for the direct certification for SAP ABAP Associate level is 1 year of abap implantation experience which you already have.
  (you should be graduate , as with out graduation i feel its not a professional experience ***I am not sure about this rule But you can apply for the certification
  Where your resume will be validated by SAP , if they fill graduation is mandatory they will get back to you )
  
  If the organisation you work for is SAP Customer or partner you can go for direct certification.

  The min passing % can be changed every year.They update it to you % before exam.Last known passing percentage is 55% .

I recently got trained in SAP ABAP from one of the institute in bangalore,So the thing is that since from past 2-3 months i have been looking for job in SAP as a fresher but everywhere I found companies preferring certified consultants..Kindly let me know what might be the cost to get SAP certified…

  Or try to ask NIIT or siemens center if they provide direct certification.
  
  ( As per i know Direct certification needs one year implementation experience or training from recognized training institutes )

Can u please guide me and help me to find out which one certification has great scope in market related to BI or BO. And is there any certification available which covers both BI and BO. Right now I am planning for C_TBW45_70. Any advise from ur side will be highly appreciated.Naila

  Well if you are planning for BI , BO yeah C_TBW45_70 is good.But as a career guide i suggest do also take work experience in ABAP , Just certification will not give you a sharp edge. Certification + work exp. is better way.
  
  So before you move to BI , BO or BW makes sure you dont let go ABAP.

4. SAP CErtified development associate ABAPwith SAP Netweaver 7.0, sap press
How useful are they going to be as far as preparation for examination is concern?

  As you already have programming knowledge I dont think ABAP is that though. So you need not to depends on so many books.
  I suggest abap in 21 days and taw series for certification.
  
  Try to do practice on system more and use of F1 help for every syntax, will be useful.
  In last the last book which you mentioned can be helpful.
  
  So from my side I suggest.
  Abap in 21 days
  Taw series
  Sap certified development associate ….
  
  Get back if I am not clear.
